Patriots are people who passionately support their country. Patriotism is alive and well in our Houston schools. Next month we will honor our vets on Veterans Day by celebrating them in ceremonies, luncheons, and breakfasts. In this District Roundup, we recount how school districts gathered in solidarity as patriots memorializing September 11th, 2001. Please take a minute to learn how our students spent Patriot Day honoring and remembering those who were injured or killed on 9/11 and celebrating American pride.
Huffman ISD’s Hargrave High School Homecoming parade included a float in observance of Patriot Day. The Hargrave Art Club decorated and rode their “Never Forget” float to remind the community of the solidarity of Americans after 9/11. As seen in header photo: Huffman patriot day.
Students and staff in Klein ISD spent Patriot Day showing their gratitude for Klein-area first responders. Multiple community service and emergency workers and vehicles visited several campus grounds, and students were able to meet and interact with the people who work in emergency situations. #kleinfamily
