Lamar Consolidated ISD

Proud tradition, bright future

Learn More

DISTRICT MISSION & VISION

To educate all students by ensuring access to a superior education through inspired leadership among parents, teachers, administrators, and staff, allowing students to achieve their full potential to participate in future social, economic and educational opportunities in their community.

DISTRICT HIGHLIGHTS

Lamar CISD is the 6th fastest growing school district in the state and stretches across 385 square miles in Fort Bend County.

The District offers superior learning opportunities to more than 34,000 students, employs highly-qualified teachers and has the unmistakable advantage of smaller schools and a hometown atmosphere.

Community involvement is one of the keys to the success of Lamar CISD. Whether it’s supporting students at athletic and cultural events, approving the construction of new schools, the many volunteers who help our teachers and students on a daily basis, the men and women serving on advisory committees or those supporting the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation with financial contributions, our community is what makes Lamar CISD a great place to raise a family.

Lamar CISD will always focus on putting students first. Our campuses are designed with smaller enrollments (high schools are designed for no more than 2,000 students) to provide more opportunities for students to assume leadership roles and participate in campus activities. Lamar CISD also has sixth-grade-only campuses (middle schools) which focus on the needs of pre-adolescents, providing a smooth transition to secondary schools.

Lamar CISD received an overall “A” rating for 2018-2019, the highest possible academic rating by the Texas Education Agency’s accountability system.

The District also offers college facilitators on every high school campus, helping all 9-12th grade students learn about college scholarships, applications, information and more.

Dr. Thomas Randle

SUPERINTENDENT

Dr. Thomas Randle became Lamar CISD’s superintendent of schools in 2001. Under his leadership, Lamar CISD is known around the state for academic excellence. Since his arrival in Lamar CISD, the district has added over a dozen facilities—with plans for another dozen on the way. Randle also has a strong record of industry leadership, including service with the Texas Association of School Boards Risk Management Fund, the UIL Legislative Committee, the Texas FFA Association, the Texas Association of School Administrators, the Texas Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, Texas Academic Decathlon, the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators and the Texas Business and Education Coalition. He’s a past president of the Texas Association of School Administrators and a past president of the Texas Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development. He served on the Texas Education Commissioner’s Cabinet of Superintendents, the Policy Committee on Public Education Information and as an advisor for the Texas Education Agency’s Recommended High School Plan. In 2008, the Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives appointed Dr. Randle to the Select Committee on Public School Accountability. He’s was also named Region 4 Superintendent of the Year (2001) and a finalist for Texas Superintendent of the Year. Other honors include the Leslie Hayley Community Service Award given by the Texas City/La Marque Chamber of Commerce and the 2004 Texas Educational Support Staff Administrator of the Year Award. Dr. Randle is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and the 2012 recipient of Texas A&M’s John R. Hoyle Award for Educational Leadership. He received an Oklahoma Regent of Higher Education Fellowship and served on a focus group for the Council of Chief State School Officers in Washington D.C. Randle earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas A&M University and a Doctorate from Oklahoma State University. He began his education career as an agriculture teacher in Sweeny ISD, then worked his way up the administrative ladder in Conroe ISD as an assistant principal, principal and assistant superintendent for secondary education. He also served as superintendent in LaMarque ISD for six years prior to arriving in Lamar CISD. Ultimately, Randle is still a teacher at heart as he serves as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University.
