The mission of the Clear Creek Independent School District, the leader in visionary education, is to ensure that each student discovers and develops his or her unique talents and interests while realizing personal success and positively impacting their world through a new system distinguished by integrity, meaningful relationships, personalized learning, achievement, and a continuing commitment to Courage, Collaboration, Innovation, and Self-Direction.
This A+ rated school district provides a high quality education to students in pre-k through 12th grade. CCISD offers early childhood for students who qualify under federal regulations as well as tuition-based pre-kindergarten. Several elementary schools have enrichment programs from STEM, STEAM, Foreign Language Immersion and Stephen Covey’s Leader in Me (adapted from the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People).
Clear Creek ISD has four intermediate schools that operate in a school-within- a-school model to meet the needs of gifted learners as well as science enthusiasts.
Students have options to attain a high school diploma and even a college degree in CCISD. The school district has five comprehensive high schools and two alternative high schools. Students can earn credit online, in the evenings and at a local college or university. CCISD is home to a nationally recognized Early College High School where students simultaneously earn a high school diploma and college

Dr. Greg Smith
Dr. Greg Smith became the Clear Creek Independent School District superintendent of schools in January 2008. He was named the Superintendent of the Year by the Texas Association of School Boards in 2012, named the top administrator by the Texas Classroom Teachers Association and Superintendent of the Year for the Texas PTA in 2013. He has led the Clear Creek Independent School District and its 5,000 employees on a journey to transform education in the 21stCentury. Today, the Clear Creek Independent School District is considered one of the largest high performing school districts in Texas while serving and leading over 42,000 students. Dr. Smith is Co-Chair of the Texas High Performance Schools Consortium, President Elect for the Texas Association of School Administrators, member of the Space Center Rotary Club, and former chairman for Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership (BAHEP). In 2014, Clear Creek ISD was a finalist for the HEB Excellence in Education Award and TASA Honor Board Award. In 2013, Clear Creek ISD voters overwhelmingly approved a $367 million school construction bond that led to the 1:1 tablet initiative and a $487 million bond election in 2017 to build new schools and renovate old facilities. Dr. Smith earned his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Oakland University, master’s degree in Education Administration from University of Houston Clear Lake, and his doctorate in Education Administration from Texas A&M University. Dr. Smith and his wife, Kathy, are the parents of two daughters and one granddaughter.
